#27 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2018
93 Points, Robert Parker "A fresh, open nose with pure fruit expression: crushed apples, pears and lemon peel mingle with touches of stone, flowers and toast. The medium-bodied palate offers a lovely dichotomy of toasty fruits with uplifted citrusy, minerally accents with a finely beaded mousse, and it finishes long and ultra fresh."
Grower Champagne
Now time for the granddaddy of them all, Champagne. You know Veuve Clicquot, but why not try something really cool like a Grower Champagne? What is a "Grower Champagne"? Â Grower Champagne is sparkling wine crafted entirely by grape growers and their families. It embodies those who grow grapes in their own vineyards that reflect their distinct style. Think craft beer for Champagne. If you a see a (tiny) RM on the back of the label, you'll know its a grower.
Pierre Peters Champagne Blanc De Blancs
$60.99
Winemaker's Notes: The wine is clear or pale with hints of green typical to the Chardonnay. The mousse is fine and regular with a pretty ribbon of strong bubbles. The first nose is both flowery and fruity, then comes notes of fresh nuts and fresh bread. In the finish there is citrus which brings a beautiful impression of smoothness and freshness. The first impression is dominated with fresh white fruits (lemon and pear) and with flowers (acacia), followed by creamy notes. The finally is persistent on the citrus (candied grapefruit, tangerine and lemon) and minerality, bringing freshness and elegance to the wine.
French Cremant
Crémant is a group of sparkling wines made with the same technique as Champagne, but from outside the Champagne region. Although regional rules can vary, all Crémant wines must adhere to specific requirements. These include manual harvesting of grapes, whole bunch pressing with limited must extraction (100 liters of juice from 150 kg grapes–think of it as extra virgin olive oil), and a minimum of nine months lees aging.
Gahier Cremant Du Jura Sparkling

Winemaker's Notes: This sparkling wine is made in the Champagne style. A wonderful wine with great complexity. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, a grape that Michel has a particular affinity for. This wine has fine bubbles, some yeast, a lively fruit flavour and a good, long finish. It has an alcohol level of 11%.
